SEND action planning in progress
All head teachers were thanked for their work on COVID-19 risk assessments for all children and young people with EHC plans at the SEND sub-group meeting of 4th May 2020. Members were updated on all of the work at the Local Authority that is ongoing as a result of the pandemic and of progress on some work streams that have had to be delayed for the same reason.
An action plan for the year is to be shared before the end of the summer term. Work streams which will continue in the autumn term include a review and quality assurance of resourced provisions, a school-by-school analysis of SEN attainment and progress data and a task and finish group, led by the Inclusion sub-group, focusing on exclusions of children with SEN. There will also be work to raise the profile of the SEN toolkit, launched last year, which is being adapted to suit different stages of education.
