Consultation of the admissions policy for Cleeve Park School
Please find details below of the consultation of the proposal to change the admissions policy for Cleeve Park School.
The consultation period starts on Friday 6th October 2023 and will continue until Monday 20th November 2023.
The letter is detailed below and a copy of the letter can be found at the bottom of this article.
6th October 2023
Dear Prospective Parent / Carer,
We are conducting a consultation on the Admissions Policy for Cleeve Park School.
Our previous admissions criteria met the needs of the school over recent years but as the school has gone from strength to strength in terms of producing well rounded young people ready to be successful members of society, we are now facing the position of being oversubscribed in Year 7 admissions and therefore need to revise our Admissions Policy for 2025 and bring it into line with our trust, TKAT, standard template.
We are therefore consulting with current and prospective parents and other stakeholders including local residents on the policy for the 2025 admissions. We would therefore like to seek the views of prospective future students and parents and have asked that this letter is forwarded to parents of pupils at your school and encourage them to take part in the consultation.
The consultation is taking place between Friday 6th October 2023 and Monday 20th November 2023.
During this time there are several ways in which you can provide your feedback:
● In writing via email to consultation@cleevepark-tkat.org
● Via post addressed to Admissions Consultation, Cleeve Park School, Bexley Lane, Sidcup, DA14 4JN
● Online at https://bit.ly/cps2025-26
We value your comments. Please note all feedback will remain anonymous.
Yours faithfully
Mr Shiv Chowlar
Chair of the Governing Body

The Proposal
The Admission Authority proposes the changes detailed below to the policy. There has also been some clarification relating to In-Year Admissions and Waiting Lists. Please note that the Academy admissions arrangements may look different as they have been updated to a new Admission Authority template, and there has been some rewording to use consistent wording across the Trust or to comply with requirements of the Admissions Code, which does not affect the content of the policy.
I. New O/S criteria – Children of staff where the member of staff has been employed at the School for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, and /or the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. This applies to all staff.
This is now O/S criteria 3
II. Distance has moved from O/S criteria 3 to O/S criteria 4. How Distance is measured has been clarified
III. O/S Other (previously O/S criteria 4) has been removed.
IV. Sixth Form Admissions arrangements have been added to the Policy detailing entry criteria and an External
PAN of 25 has been added.
A copy of the proposed Admissions Arrangements for 2025/26 can be found on the website on the page entitled “Consultation of 2025-26 Admissions Policy” available under the “Admissions” menu.
