We would like to be able to support school staff across Bexley by signposting them towards organisations who offer extra-curricular clubs, opportunities, outreach and educational visits. You can find below a list of organisations and opportunities that might be of interest to your school staff and pupils.

Bexley Youth Council

Bexley Youth Council is inclusive and represents all voices of young people living or educated in the Bexley Borough aged 11 to 18.

The BYC works in partnership with a range of services and providers including the community sector to highlight and improve issues impacting young people in Bexley.

London Youth Games

The London Youth Games (LYG) is an annual multi-sport event in which young people from across the 33 London Boroughs compete against each other in sports. The LYG gives the opportunity for young people to compete against their peers on a high-level platform in world-class venues.

Bexley Snap

Bexley Snap offer disabled children and young people aged between 1 Year and 25 Years an exciting and varied programme of clubs to provide parents and carers support, guidance, and regular breaks from their caring responsibilities. To find out more, please visit https://bexleysnap.org.uk/

 

London South East Children’s University

The Children’s University rewards children and young people for taking part in learning outside the classroom. Once signed up, time stamps are earned each time they take part in a Children’s University accredited activity and at the end of each year there is a graduation for those who have earned enough stamps (there are a number of graduation levels, all the way from 30hrs up to 1000hrs).

ootiboo is a creative learning company that delivers projects to schools (KS1/2/3) and families at home. They focus on three key areas, real life learning, health & wellbeing and eCo (climate change and adaptation).  Projects include; Why Money Matters with Deborah Meaden and Discover You with Mr. Men and Little Miss. Growing Against Violence

Growing Against Violence (GAV) is a charity that aims to prevent youth violence and protect young people against exploitation by gangs and grooming both on the streets and online.  They deliver age-appropriate workshops into schools and colleges for both pupils and teachers.

In these workshops, they address the root causes of violence, and work on keeping young people out of gangs, exploitative peer-on-peer relationships and away from antisocial behaviour.

52 Lives School of Kindness

At the School of Kindness, they believe that kind is the most important thing a child can be. They believe kindness exists inside all of us – sometimes we just need to unlock it. They help to create a culture of kindness in classrooms and work with thousands of children every year. They offer free Kindness Workshops, resources and lessons plans, and provide small grants via our Kindness Fund.

The Morphe Trust

The Morphe Trust is a registered charity which works with young people and local partners to deliver interventions to aid young people to make better choice for best out comes in education, safeguarding, inclusion, health and wellbeing and many challenges young people face. Theatre of Science

Lara teaches weekly all-ages science lesson, an IGCSE Physics lesson and a Lego Story Show which are mainly aimed at the Home Education community to meet their needs, but would be suitable for pupils in school too. Children do experiments with household objects alongside me, there are free print outs, and EVERYTHING is available on catch up!

Tech She Can is a charity, working together with industry, government, and schools to improve the ratio of women in technology roles and they provide an educational resource programme – Tech We Can – which is completely free for schools. They also inspire young adults – especially girls and women – to consider a future career in technology, by connecting them to relatable role models who have recently started their careers.

Jesse’s Place Foundation (Including Dads Support Network)

Jesse’s Place Foundation support parent/carers of children living with autism, including forums on important SEND topics and a Saturday Active Play respite program for children and young people aged of 8 – 25 years. The Foundation also runs a support group for fathers/male carers of children living with autism known as ‘the Dads Support Network’ – where parents gain support and guidance.

 

GOTS (Girls on the Autistic Spectrum)

GOTS (Girls On The Spectrum) is a parent led group for girls with Autism and their parents/carers to gain support, share information and most importantly have fun! There are also separate sessions for parents/carers only.

Sendtivate

SENDTIVATE is set up to provide unique inclusive support to all special educational needs (SEND) young people, improving sibling relationships, promoting overall wellbeing of the families within the community. We provide Holiday activities, PA services and short breaks, respite services and 1:1 provision to children and young people with SEND aged between 2 and 24 years old.

 

Active Horizons (BAME, youth and family support)

Active Horizons provides engaging, creative and educational programs for young people. Which range from leadership development, arts, sports, career development and life skills.

Southbank Centre

The Southbank Centre is home to the Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, National Poetry Library and Purcell Room. We offer a year-round programme of activities for primary and secondary schools to inspire a love of the arts and support learning across the curriculum.
