SEN Support Pilot launched
The SEND sub-group will be involved with the SEN Support Pilot project, which will use many of the ideas from the rejected SSIF bid earlier this year. It represents a significant investment by the London Borough of Bexley.
The project addresses the fact that the gap between children at SEN Support and those without a special educational need is widening in Bexley, particularly at secondary school, which does not reflect the national picture. Focus areas include: key transition points, particularly phase transfers; listening to pupil voice and putting systems in place to identify need early. SENCos will be involved in upskilling mainstream staff.
