Danson Primary School consultation for 2027-28

To whom it may concern

Bexley is consulting on a planned amendment to its Admissions Arrangements for Danson Primary School, a Community School, namely a reduction in the Pupil Admission Number (PAN) from 90 to 60 for the 2027 – 2028 intake onwards.

Over the past few years, Danson  Primary School has experienced a decrease in the number of applications. This has been the result of a decline in the number of school-age children in the local area. As a result, the current PAN is no longer reflective of the local demand for school places. In order to ensure efficient resourcing, maintain our good standards of education, ensure operation within our budget and promote an effective and efficient student-to-teacher ratio, we are considering reducing the PAN.

Comments are not sought on any other aspects of the Admissions Arrangements. The proposed change is in line with the School Admissions Code 2021, Bexley Council is consulting with adjoining local authorities (Greenwich, Kent, Bromley), with local primary schools and trusts and other related parties. The consultation will run from Monday 1st  December 2025 to 12th January 2026, at which point the consultation will close.
