Fostering emotional resilience in Bexley schools
Head Teacher Forum, on 6th December 2019, was devoted to the mental health and emotional wellbeing of all children and young people in Bexley. Dr Anjan Ghosh, Director of Public Health and Beverley Mack, Associate Director of CAMHS shared the national and local context; Charlton Athletic informed the meeting of the work it carries out for young people and told schools how to access their services, while four head teachers presented on the problems they are facing and the importance of good emotional wellbeing in school communities. Head teachers then worked together to consider what makes an emotionally-resilient school.
Head teachers were also thanked for their contributions to the Strategic Education Partnership this term, including hosting learning visits, contributing case studies and Ofsted inspection insights, taking part in task and finish groups, registering their SLTs and governors to access the website and joining sub-groups.
