FREE Primary Arts programme
A New Direction’s FREE Primary Arts programme is open to primary schools and primary SEND settings in Bexley. It aims to increase access to high quality and inspiring arts, cultural and creative opportunities for children and staff through free tickets for school trips, performances in schools, and CPD for staff.

There are five strands to Primary Arts:
- In-Schools Touring – performances and workshops in school for pupils led by a range of arts practitioners
- Go & See – free tickets to cultural opportunities in London for pupils
- Masterclasses for teachers on developing literacy in young readers
- Come & Try – twilight workshops offering hands-on creative activities for staff
- Cultural Education Leadership Programme, supporting mid-career teachers to develop as leaders in cultural education.
Our pupil opportunities are available to all year groups from Reception to Year 6, and to Primary SEND settings. Also included are additional free resources, books, and craft supplies. Our access budget is available to support transport and other costs depending on the needs of the school.
Primary Arts is funded by The City of London Corporation City Educational Trust Fund, and in partnership with cultural organisations, reflects the breadth and quality of London’s cultural offering, allowing teachers and children to unlock their creative potential.
