Give your views on Bexley’s high needs banding model

Bexley Local Authority is seeking your views on the changes it has made to its high needs banding model for children with an EHC Plan, by way of the survey below.

In November 2019, the simplified model, which cut the number of bandings from 36 to seven, was approved at Schools Forum.  The new model is in line with current SEN legislation, which focuses on the severity of a child’s need rather than a medical diagnosis.  It aims to make the allocation of funding fair and equitable, following the principle of the banding follows the child and caters for their assessed needs and provisions required to meet their needs as set out in their EHC Plan.
