Post-16 transition group findings to be shared
The findings of a post-16 transitions task and finish group will be shared with those who have expressed an interest, including Bexley Voice and mental health services.
The group, which met three times between July and September, received assurances from post-16 providers that appropriate support to change courses would be offered to learners who may find their courses particularly challenging following teacher-assessed grades at GCSE. They also acknowledged that mental wellbeing of students and their families could affect decisions on post-16 choices.
Other issues discussed included free transport for post-16 learners and virtual tours of colleges for current year 11 students for whom there would not be physical open events to help them make choices about their next steps.
