Supporting inclusive practice and reassuring families
Inclusion sub-group members learnt, at their meeting of 1st February 2021, that, to support pupils, their families, schools and Local Authority services, schools would soon be invited to share data to support inclusive practices. The information on the fortnightly return would be around school starters and leavers, pupils missing out on education, children missing education, managed moves and permanent and fixed term exclusions. Members had scrutinised work on this data return and it would be ready to go to schools once there had been final meetings with primary and secondary school leaders later this month.
Another piece of work that members would be involved in going forward was giving their input to a review of the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programme for students aged 14-19. Any changes would come into effect in September 2021.
