Views shared on wellbeing and Strategic Education Partnership work at HTF
There was plenty of opportunity to share views at Head Teacher Forum, on 5th May 2021, despite the meeting being a virtual one. Bexley head teachers broke out into small groups to discuss their schools’ recovery journeys and, later in the meeting, to hear about the work of the Strategic Education Partnership sub-groups and to give valuable feedback.
With a focus on recovery and emotional health and wellbeing, head teachers heard from Clare Greene, Principal at Eastcote Primary School, and Graeme Napier, Principal at Bexleyheath Academy, about the focus of their schools’ recovery journeys. John Miller, Head of Early Intervention Team, Specialist Teacher Service & Principal Educational Psychologist, then shared a wealth of information around staff and pupil wellbeing. These included online resources to assess wellbeing, develop pupil resilience and problem-solving skills for adults, as well as mindfulness resources and ways to share experiences and receive greater levels of support, where necessary.
Head teachers also found out more about the membership process for the Strategic Education Partnership, held earlier in the year, which has led to far greater direct participation in sub-groups from head teachers and governors.
