Virtual Head Teacher Forum held
Although Head Teacher Forum, due to have taken place on 6th July 2020, was cancelled this time, updates on the work of the Strategic Education Partnership were shared with head teachers at cluster meetings on 7th and 8th July. These were rebadged as virtual HT Forum.
Head teachers learnt that the membership process for roles on sub-groups had been disrupted, but would take place in the autumn term. Other information shared included how the partnership sub-groups were adapting their action plans to reflect the needs of the education system in response to COVID-19. The need for data sharing had become more apparent during lockdown as schools and the local authority worked to support vulnerable pupils; there were sufficiency concerns at PVIs and in post-16; and there was concern around gaps widening for disadvantaged learners in the areas of digital access, the language deficit and support for vulnerable children and those with SEN.
Head teachers were shown the new ‘restore’ data dashboards, which would be shared on the website and in the daily communication to schools to give a snapshot of how well the Bexley education system was returning to health.
