EPA action plan set for 2021/22
At their sub-group meeting of 5th July 2021, members reviewed the work of the past year and set their course for 2021/22. In line with the expectations of the Strategic Board, they worked to ensure that their focus areas were achievable and language in the sub-group action plan was tightened around aims, actions and impact. Focus areas for next year will be the language gap at pre-school and at transition; imbedding and reviewing the Closing the Word Gap Toolkit 2021-2022; closing the language gap at secondary transition and using the Skills Directory to enable effective school-to-school support, using termly exemplars to show impact.
Members then learnt how information shared at year6/ year 7 transition was informing the way in which the Local Authority supported schools and the way in which schools prepared for their new cohorts. Some of this practice would be incorporated into pre-school to reception transition going forward.
