Summer Reading Challenge and summer activities in Bexley libraries

Over the summer, Bexley Libraries will be offering a wide range of FREE events and activities for children, including…

Author events

  • Storytellers
  • Cartooning workshops
  • Robotics workshops
  • Manga sessions
  • Animal encounters
  • Musical activities, including dance and drumming
  • Craft sessions

Details of the programme will be available on the Library Service’s website in July – https://arena.yourlondonlibrary.net/web/bexley/whats-on#/

Our free family events are always really popular and this year we want to ensure that as many children as possible can attend.

We are trialling a new approach to how we issue event tickets this summer in order to minimise non-attendance and ensure that tickets are given out to families that are able to make it to the events:

  • Tickets for a whole week of events will be released two weeks ahead of time, every Monday
  • Tickets are available exclusively in library branches for the week that they are released and available by visiting a library or by telephone
  • Any tickets not allocated by the end of the first week will then be made available on Eventbrite for anyone to book online

There is also the Summer Reading Challenge which promotes a love of reading with children of all ages! Please find below an assembly presentation you can use with your pupils along with flyers for parents!
