Commissioning plans for school places published
The Commissioning Plan for Education Provision 2019-2020 and the SEN Commissioning Plan 2019 – 2020 have been published to set out the approach that is being taken by the Council to plan for mainstream and Special Educational Needs (SEN) school places over the next two to three years.
The commissioning plans, which were shared at Head Teacher Forum on 28th March 2019, show how the Local Authority is planning for future pupil population growth. This is being fuelled by housing growth and in-year admissions for mainstream and specialist places and by the increasing number of children with SEN who have Education Health Care Plans, reflecting a higher severity of need among this group of children.
The plans include information on: the Bexley context; the challenges of meeting increased demand; factors affecting the forecasts; how the forecasts will be met; the capacity of Bexley’s schools and the potential for further expansion including ongoing projects, funding and next steps.
