‘A good place for year 1, now accelerate work and deepen impact for all Bexley children’, says ISOS
The ISOS One-year-on Review of the work of the Strategic Education Partnership gave positive feedback on the work undertaken so far, stating that there has been real success in re-building trust and relationships between schools and the local authority.
Going forward recommendations included: setting priorities, vision and a detailed delivery plan for each sub-group; engaging more schools in the work of the Strategic Education Partnership through a greater use of task and finish groups or action research; finding ways to involve or consult with a wider group of head teachers; improve communications including newsletters to head teachers and chairs of governors signposting what information is available on the website; and reviewing membership, including establishing a strategic meeting for MAT CEOs.
The review process included conversations with the Acting Regional Schools Commissioner, senior local authority staff and the co-chairs and lead officers of sub-groups; peer reviews of sub-groups by co-chairs; conversations undertaken by the Portsmouth Education Partnership with 10 MAT CEOs; and a survey of all head teachers and chairs of governors in Bexley.
