Initial thoughts on the way forward

At the Strategic Board meeting of 4th May 2022 members started to consider how the Strategic Education Partnership might need to adapt in order to meet our ambitions for 2030, following the recently-published Education White Paper and SEND Green Paper.
Recognising the inherent tension in the system as schools move to be in strong MATs by 2030, members’ initial thoughts were that, as a system, we should be investing in early years and early intervention to identify need. And, with limited resources, the Strategic Education Partnership should use data to drive workstreams and be a mechanism to strength-test our system to support vulnerable children.  Some members wanted to bring safeguarding into the Partnership and others were keen to encourage contributions from students.
Board members will continue these discussions at their next meeting on 21st June 2022.
