Working in partnership to review SEN provision in Bexley
Bexley plans to work in partnership with schools to carry out a borough-wide informal review of SEN provision, members of the SEND sub-group heard at the meeting of 28th June 2019. The proposals for the consultation will be sent to members for review, but are likely to include finding clarity around admissions criteria, capacity, staffing levels, staff training requirements and cost per pupil. A task and finish group will oversee the process.
Sub-group members also considered potential content for their data dashboard and received an update on the progress of the Capturing Child’s Voice task and finish group. It has gathered ideas from special schools, mainstream schools with specialist provisions, relevant professionals and voluntary advocacy groups, which will form the components of the toolkit. The toolkit will be launched at Head Teacher Forum on 6th December 2019.
