Co-produced EHC plan audits give positive message
Bexley is one of the few boroughs nationally which is co-producing their quality assurance audits of EHC plans with parents, SEND sub-group members learnt at their meeting of 7th February 2020. This is the second quarter for the process and already most new plans are judged to be good or better with only four of 45 deemed inadequate. A full report will be presented to the group at the end of the first 12 month period.
Members were also given fixed term and permanent exclusion data for children with SEN, including those who attend special schools, and they learnt that LA officers had had their first ‘learning from’ event to understand, case by case, where there had been gaps in the connectivity of services.
