COVID-19 Impact Assessment needs head teacher viewpoint

Bexley Public Health Team are working in conjunction with PHAST, a public health consultancy company, to produce a Covid-19 Impact Assessment (CIA). We are looking for a Bexley head teacher to sit on our steering group that focuses on 2 parts of the CIA – a 5-19 years children’s Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), and vital 5 Health Impact Assessment (HIA). The vital 5 refers to obesity, high blood pressure, smoking, alcohol consumption and mental health, and covers all age groups.

These assessments, and JSNA in particular, aim to understand the needs of Bexley’s children, what and where the inequalities are, and give next steps on what we can do about them. We would like to ensure that our work includes the perspectives of schools and the views of head teachers.

Our steering group meets monthly until December. We are meeting via Teams for the foreseeable future. Please contact Constance Wou, constance.wou@bexley.gov.uk, consultant in public health at Bexley Council if you would like to know more information.
