New faces complement experience to drive Partnership forward

Every sub-group now has more head teacher and governor members than at any time through its history, following the membership renewal process carried out in January 2021, which strengthens our ability to work together to improve the life chances of all children and young people in Bexley.
In total we received self-nominations from 35 MAT executives and head teachers and 10 governors – 25 from existing members and 20 from those new to the Strategic Education Partnership.  Just six previous members stood down.  More than 80% have joined their first preference sub-group.
We are pleased to welcome four new co-chairs to the sub-groups, namely Rob Leitch and Carla Ferla to Inclusion, Carmel Longley to Education Performance and Achievement (EPA) and Beverley Gardner to Workforce Development, Succession Planning and Governance (WDSP&G).  The remaining co-chairs: Nigel Fisher and Lori Mackey on SEND, Sue Brooks on WDSP&G, Andrew Hogarth on EPA and Mark Hannon and Shireen Razey on School Places and Planning, held their posts previously and we thank them for continuing their leadership.
Although, whichever way we measure it, there is more participation, whether it be how many primary, secondary, grammar or special schools are represented, or, by how many multi-academy trusts, single academy trusts or community schools, there is always room for those under-represented trusts to come on board.
