FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Training

We are pleased to offer an opportunity for school staff and professionals working with children and young people to attend the accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Training, delivered by Laura Burke Organisation.

The training will take place at Bexley Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT, from 09:00 to 16:00 on one of the following two-day courses:

  • 25 and 26 November 2026
  • 27 and 28 January 2027

As children and young people continue to face increasing pressures that can affect their emotional wellbeing and mental health, this training will equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to recognise signs of distress, provide initial support, and signpost to appropriate services.

Participants will gain:

  • A greater understanding of mental health and wellbeing.
  • Confidence in recognising early signs of mental health concerns.
  • Practical skills to support children and young people experiencing difficulties.
  • Knowledge of how to respond appropriately and signpost to further support.
  • An understanding of how to reduce stigma and promote positive mental wellbeing within schools and community settings.

We welcome expressions of interest from colleagues working across schools, education settings, community organisations, voluntary sector services, and other agencies supporting children and young people.

Please note that this is an expression of interest only. Places are limited to 32, and submitting a form does not guarantee a place. If demand exceeds capacity, we will aim to ensure representation across a range of schools and organisations.

To register your interest, please complete the form by the 30th of October 2026.
